#20: Turn 26 In Your College Town.
I’m back in my college town. And I just turned 26. But I’m not in college any more. Such a weird feeling. But there’s no turning back now. Let’s do this. A hair past 25, I feel damn lucky for accomplishing so much so far: I’ve had cats, dogs, turtles, horses, rabbits, birds. I’ve done a road trip half-way across the country. I’ve lived in New Orleans for a summer. I’ve launched a bucket list blog. I’ve had 456 jobs (or…
#19: Join A “Geeks-Who-Drink” Trivia Night.
Well if you can’t beat the geeks, join ’em! Three hours later, I realized why trivia night is so addicting: It brings smarty pants together and turns random strangers into fast friends. A couple days leading up to trivia, I innocently and naively asked my roommate: What the heck is trivia night? A night of playing Trivial Pursuit at a kitchen table? Crossroads RVA Coffee & Ice Cream A local’s favorite. My usual breakfast spot in college after I worked out. Sadly, they retired my favorite breakfast wrap, but I’m glad I got to enjoy it for as…
#16: Run A Half-Marathon In 40˙F.
IF AND BEFORE you run a half, just remember: It’s NOT for the faint of heart. Everything –– the weather, the course, the prep, the sustenance, the running buddy, the end goal –– makes a difference between ending happy and ending miserable. This was my 1st half-marathon. Ever. Luckily for me, the course was a pretty, flat 13.2 miles through downtown, scenic, park-centric Richmond, VA. Unlucky for me, it was a 40˙ morning that felt like 20˙. My exposed hands were freezing and…
