#29: Get A Job With Hamilton Beach.

Adventure, Foodie-isms

A PR-Grad-Turned-Copywriter, it took me a while to find copywriting heaven… Who knew a 2-week temp assignment with a kitchen appliance brand would turn into a 3-month event or open the window to a career? Now –– One month and 32 best-selling kitchen appliances later –– I’ve learned a thing, or two, about how to win consumers’ hearts with a simple coffeemaker.

I worked as a Radio Disney Groupie, festival planner, restaurant hostess, smoothie maker, amateur web developer, speechwriter, healthcare intern, real estate blogger and social media scout before discovering out-of-this-world can openers at Hamilton Beach Brands.

It was summer 2012. The city was Richmond, VA. My job was to bring 32 kitchen appliances to life on Amazon.com in 2 weeks. After the first week the new copy campaign launched on Amazon, sales increased by 60% alone for one product alone, the Scoop Coffeemaker. I must have done something right. Or the coffee gods liked me enough. I think I’ve found my calling.
