#103: The Perfect Black Bean Burger In SF.

Foodie-isms

I do love a good, juicy beef burger or savory turkey sandwich, but lately, I’ve preferred anything and everything veggie or black bean filled. I’m not vegetarian. Or a pescatarian. I just really like fish. And veggies. A lot. To the point, I’ve been hunting for the perfect, well-crafted veggie burger since I got here to SF. Today, I finally found one.

It was a cloudless Sunday morning in the Mission (you measure SF living by its sunny days), and brunch was on the top of mind. I was meeting up with an old friend from the 2nd grade (hi, Rima!) for brunch. She already knew of some key Sunday spots and had the perfect one picked out –– booth, board game, boozy drink and all.

Turns out, it was unsuspecting pub of “holy-crap-that’s-good” proportions, with endless brunch Mimosas, pork bun sliders and one heck of a loaded, black bean veggie burger with a “hearty helping of goat cheese and sautéed peppers.”  The Sycamore menu. The only really important item is at the bottom. Bottomless everything.
