#101: Run Early Along The Embarcadero.

#101: Run Early Along The Embarcadero.

Nothing like an early morning run to get the blood pumping! But don’t make the same mistakes I did. Here’s a couple pitstops and tips to consider along the way:

  • Avoid running through the Tenderloin if you can, Start in Nob Hill.
It’s the sketchiest neighborhood in the entire city and doesn’t have the most pleasant of views or people. Its streets have constant stoplights so you’ll be pausing every 5 minutes or so. Pro-tip: Start next to Grace Cathedral in Nob Hill where the views are best and your breathing will be the clearest. The best place to finish is the Marina or Crissy Field which lets out directly at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.
  • Drink a “Harmless Harvest” coconut water before you go. The company is headquartered in SF, so drink up a refreshing cool one as a warm up. Consider it like you’re giving back to a local business. Also a great alternative if you don’t care for plain water.
  • Start in the east side of the city and work your way west. In other words, keep the outline of the Golden Gate Bridge on your right hand side and follow it until you see it up close. The city is divided along the “Divisadero” –– anything to the east is foggier, colder and less sunny; anything to the west closest to the Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge is less foggy, sunnier but more expensive in rent.
